The City’s new 15,000-square-foot police station will soon open at site of the former Boys and Girls Club in Pell City, directly behind the City’s new Pickleball Courts on 19th St. South. The planned facility will provide the Department with approximately five times its current amount of operational space in City Hall.
Pell City Police Chief Justin Cooper said the facility was designed for expansion and is expected to accommodate the needs of the City for decades to come. The new facility will provide officers with the resources they need to excel, including expanded space for administration, investigations and patrol divisions and dedicated community meeting rooms.

“Our move into the new headquarters is more than a location change, it’s progress,” Chief Cooper told The Daily Home. “With more space, improved technology, and purpose-built areas for training and operations, this building will directly strengthen how we serve the community. It gives our officers the room and tools to work more efficiently, respond faster, and handle the day-to-day demands of modern policing.”
Cooper said the police force is ready for the changes and improvements.
“Our officers are ready for it,” he said. “They’ve watched this project come together, and there’s a real sense of pride in stepping into a space that reflects the tremendous work they do. I’m looking forward to it as much as they are. This move marks the start of a more capable, better-equipped chapter for our department and the city we serve.”
